Nov 17-23
On Monday I've traveled back to Zagreb. I've arrived around 23:00. In the morning while I was about to make a morning coffee I've noticed that building Vecernji list is gone. Almost.

Interestingly enough I've check verenji.hr and there were new that its building burned down. Later I've learned that Vecernji list move long time ago so It wasn't their building.

I liked that building even though it wasn't fancy nor pretty. Reminded me Hotel Olympic. Early in the morning It was reflecting sunlight from east and was completely shining gold.
Day after the fire, Zagreb fell into traffic chaos. Vjestnik was right next to the main road crossing whole Zagreb - Slavonska Avenija and this road was closed because of the chance that building will collapse. Light crossroads were turned off and police officer was placed on every crossroad to allow better flexibility in directing traffic than timed semaphores. As a pedestrian I was observing one while waiting for a signal to cross the road and I wasn't persuaded by police officer that he knew official signs and gestures. Honking and shouting became routine for next couple of days.

For the whole week Zagreb was covered by dense fog. I'm used to it and even like it but after couple of days it was little bit claustrophobic. One day was an exception and maybe it was just a contrast that caught my eye, but it was a very crisp night.

On Sunday I traveled to Prague. Was a freezing cold. Journey was fine though. Appeared quicker. Apart hotel room was displeasing. I picked wrong one in external building. Room was clean but didn't have carpet and seemed cold. Radiators were noisy. All was good but the impression and vibe was off.

Notice

  • Smog and dense fog everywhere. Poor air quality likely caused by fossil fuel used for heating. I've been told that Zagreb has issues with smog during winter.

Future

  • Busy week ahead. Visit 2 doctors, company event and Brno
