Work-week started slowly, felt unmotivated, aimless, frustrated. Temperatures went down a bit and on Tuesday I just thought that I'll get on bike as soon as possible after work.
Bored, anxious, socially deprived I went on Sljeme since overall route time matched remaining daylight time. And It was awesome!
Route led through city center to city outskirts full of rich people's villas. Some of them were really nice. What was not nice though was the terrain as some hills had 17 degrees. Being on venting trip I managed to climb that all. Then path changed to nice one-way asphalt road in a very good shape. I've met 3-4 other cyclist all of them have been faster than me and 3-4 cars. If all roads and traffic looked like this I'd switch to road cycle immediately. This all was due to perfect time though. I'd like to try this out again and could also be early in the morning one day, after sunrise.

Returned back home physically tired but happy.
Next work day was a bit better. Maybe because I went for a walk before work and did little shopping. And since I had nothing better to do after work I decided to go on bicycle again. Thought I'll do just a light session on Jarun. I tried to keep my pace steady but low effort yet somehow I made few speed PRs. Could be that this time there was no wind.
Thursday I went for a beer to Garden Brewery - I have a new favorite amongst local craft beers - Plima - Double IPA. I felt that I really should not touch the bike next day since I felt my legs are really fatigued. On Friday I worked bit longer and stayed at home.

Saturday though I planned to do that long distance south trip. First half was great, road was good, traffic low, there was a long newly laid road through forest - lovely. The other half was exhausting though and I was happy for the islands of asphalted road. Majority of paths were sturdy paths consisting of semi-big rocks, big enough to cause trouble getting through on my 35mm tires. During the whole trip I saw a few homesteads, chapels and plains.

I don't recall seeing many people there. Was hoping that I'll come across a coffee place but there was absolutely nothing. On one spot there was big parking log and some lake with a possibly restaurant but I didn't dare to visit it. Lake - completely covered by green algae and wooden building but not a person around. And again there was no road just a rocky path.
Next day I just rested.

Observation

  • Weekend cottage is still a thing here, or at least was. Since this weekend most of them were empty.
  • People take care of plains outside of Zagreb. I don't think I saw this lately in Czechia or Slovakia.
  • Most common car brand in outskirts of Zagreb is definitely Opel.

Training

  • 164km cycling, should rest few days

Backlog

  • Want to try morning cycling one day. Given that sunset is currently at 20:48 and sunrise at 5:05, I have almost 5 hours of daylight time before work and less than 4 hours of daylight time after work.
  • Want to visit Samobor again
