Storytime
Busy week.
Hotel was bit better than what I thought after my first impression, breakfast was under-average and not worth it. Room was clean and when I've pulled out fridge's power cord, it was also quiet. Holesovice is still my favourite Prague's district.
On monday I've managed to meet with my ex-colleague. He wasn't really happy about his job and expects to be fired since at the company he's working for they are still doing stack ranking and he was classified as a bottom C player.
Tuesday I was bit tired and I've only managed to lit a candle to my mother's Death anniversary after work.
Wednesday I visited my doctor after work, got Tick (TBE) vaccine, went to buy stuff that we're missing in Zagreb and that was it. On Thursday morning I went on blood tests, then back to hotel for a breakfast, checkout and headed to the office. At 12:00 I had a dental hygiene appointment followed by dentist appointment, but the first was cancelled. At least I had little bit more time for work. After work, friend of mine came and we went for a beer. At 20:00 I had to depart. Back to Zagreb. Pilsner on tap was delicious.
During the whole time I didn't feel any sort of nostalgia. I've noticed couple of minor changes in Prague but still felt almost at home.
Veronika fell ill on my return. Strong allergy combined with something else. Friday I was mainly recovering from traveling, Saturday I've managed to get on bike and Sunday nothing special.
A Turkish traveler
Young man seated next to me on my way to Zagreb asked me what is my destination and conversation sparked up for maybe two hours. He turned out to really enjoy traveling and expressed sort of an envy that we Europeans are not using our passport to an extend that it allows us. He was from Turkey. If I understood him correctly he went to Zagreb just for a day and then headed back, just to see a new place because he got special limited visa. I was a bit embarrassed since my knowledge about Turkey is quite poor. I follow the news and we discussed it all from each others standpoint, I've learned quite a lot from him. He was intrigued by my answer to a mandatory question: "Why did Czechoslovakia split?" I've stumbled upon his conflicting standpoint when he criticized Erdogan as an absolute dictator but on the other hand he looked forward and was proud in his future job that will be assured to him by his father the judge. I didn't challenge this, but now when I'm thinking about it, I should have explore this controversy more. Guy seemed rather intelligent and it would be interesting to learn his view on democracy and freedom. All I've got was that the public sector in Turkey is much more prestige than private. Thats also interesting. Anyway, during a break I bought him Horalka as a most famous Slovak biscuit and after midnight we both shut up and felt asleep. In the morning I wished him pleasant stay and we farewelled not exchanging any contact, nor name.
