Storytime

With a forecast of bad weather I've managed to get out for a short run just once early in the beginning of a week. All the other days it was drizzling and therefore I've stayed at home occupied with work. Workwise it was a good week but also exhausting. On Friday we visited our friends and on Saturday we've been visited by friends. Sunday I've spent mostly cooking. I've did a good progress with a book I'm reading.
The Book is a collection of a real life stories of few individual Czechoslovak dissidents and their fate after 2nd World War during the communist era. Mainly Slovak dissidents. I've learned so much from it so far, and none of this was ever taught in school. Yet, it is so crucial to know. On many occasions people there were describing a very familiar though process and observations that are so current now.

Observation

  • Its so nice to read a book from my home country with familiar Slovak surnames
  • I've gained few interesting insights thanks to this week's socializing. Meeting new people outside of my bubble is like reading a book from a new genre. Fresh, sometimes much to digest.
  • Teachers are unhappy, dissatisfied and frustrated by their profession. Parents and students changed apparently. When I was choosing my profession I remember that one of a recommendation I received was to become a teacher because of a given low-stress nature and lots of free time. Not anymore.
  • Supposedly popular sentiment amongst kids is 'anti-woke', right wing.
  • Spring is hesitating

Training

  • running, 5.0km - 28min

Bad weather.

Future

  • In two weeks I'll travel to Prague. How much I squeeze from this venture will be given by how much I'll be able to plan this week.
  • Continue to keep with stress management without help of good weather.

Loot

Don't take refuge in the false security of consensus.
